  • It’s All Junk!

It’s All Junk!

By William Pace

Dallas, TX rock trio Junk is set to have their debut EP titled Double Soundtrack drop on January 5, 2018! The band recently put their John Hancock’s on a worldwide deal with Zombie Shark Records.

Junk is fronted by actor, singer, and guitarist Billy Blair. You‘ve seen him on the big screen in the Machete films and Sin City: A Dame to Kill amongst others. He’s a seasoned musician on top of his acting career, with bands such as Mother Truckin, Skull Diggers, and Love Stricken Demise to name a few. The trio also features Benjamin K. Bachman (Never Mind the Darkness) on bass and vocals, and Brian “Boog Nasty” on drums.

The band’s latest singles, “Pop Rock Genocide” and “The Sasquatch,” featured on the upcoming EP Double Soundtrack were recorded and produced at Soundhaven Studios in Rockwall, TX by Jason Schauer and mixed by Travis Wyrick (P.O.D.,10 Years, Shinedown). The songs will be featured in the upcoming horror/comedy movie Cherokee Creek.

The video (seen below) for “Pop Rock Genocide” is great. They really rock it out and spoof all those supposed reality tv talent show contestants and hosts along with some other music video references. I really enjoyed this and dig the cover art by Ashley Box for their debut EP. They have all the chops–a great sound I look forward to hearing more of in the future.
