Movie Matt-ers: Are you normal?
Do you enjoy what you do? And are you like normal people and eat and sleep like we do? -Anon
I love what I do. Being a movie columnist/reviewer is a lifelong dream. As far as being like normal people, what’s your definition of “normal”? I’ve never put myself in that category. “Normal” is a little too boring for my tastes. I’m kind of like the Terminator. I don’t need to eat, sleep, or even poo.
No, not really. Unfortunately, I do have to engage in those traditionally human activities. What I’ve always found amusing is that celebrities, media, and even us reviewers/bloggers are held in such esteem. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy any limelight my pseudo-celebrity brings, but we’re all cut from the same cloth. If you want to put someone on a pedestal, go with the emergency first responders, the healthcare caregivers, or the burger flippers (who bust their asses to give us those delicious Big Macs).
What I am is an opinionated geek willing to answer any bizarre, highly interesting, or cracked-out question that someone presents me. I don’t have any overly studious qualifications, but it does take some effort. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
